Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Review Game
I made this game to help my students review the color, number, and sight words during our readiness period at the beginning of first grade. They LOVE playing the game! We sit in a circle and play it as a whole group first with the girls vs. the boys. Then, I add it to my Puzzles & Games station as one of their first buddy activities. Hope your kids enjoy it as much as mine!

Probability with Eggs
Sorry, I haven't posted in a couple of weeks. I've been busy with Donors Choose projects. Wow! What a great program. Check it out if you haven't already. I was able to get lots of stuff for my classroom with the support of colleagues, community members, and businesses. What a great partnership! That's what education should be!!!
Next week is all about spring and egg activities for us. We're going to the Eggstravaganza at our local Botanic Gardens and I have lots of fun, educational activities planned this week a lot in thanks to the creativity of fellow bloggers. Thanks to all those who have shared their great ideas!!! Now it's my turn to contribute an idea so here's one for probability with eggs. I loaded up on egg candy at the store (with the help of some coupons) so we should have a fun and "certainly" an excitable week. LOL!

Grammar Review Dunk
My kids love to play basketball and so I created a game to review nouns, adjectives, and verbs. I'm going to divide the kids into teams and if they can correctly name the part of speech of each word card then they get to shoot the basketball in the basket (soft basketball toy and unused wastebasket that closely resembles a basketball basket :). I also made some title cards so you can sort the words, too, on the pocket chart at the same time. Have fun!

Making Words Chicktionary
Okay, I admit it...I have a little addiction to a game on my iPhone called Chicktionary. I play it ALL the time. Somehow it is relaxing to me....weird but true. I told my kids about it and decided to make their own version of Chicktionary. We'll see if they become as addicted as me. :)

Comparative Adjectives Game
I've been inspired by some of the other blogs I've seen so I've created a game for one of our stories in our reading series, Scott Foresman Reading Street. It goes with the story Henry and Mudge but can be used anytime when you are studying comparative adjectives (adding -er and -est to adjectives). Click below to download the game.
